Ruins in Reverse

Ruins in Reverse is a triptych that captures the land clearance process for a University of Florida extension building in the outskirts of Gainesville. The title borrows its name from a phrase in Robert Smithson’s text The Monuments of Passaic (1967): “buildings don’t fall into ruin after they are built but rather rise into ruin before they are built.”
